Shantel Schwehr spent her teenage years and early adulthood training and competing with horses. Her early interests in animal behavior and training led her to graduate from Colorado State University with a degree in animal sciences in 2018. Since then, her dog experience has ranged from doggy daycares, specialty veterinary hospitals, working with the behavioral team at the Jacksonville Humane Society and ASPCA, and ultimately joining the JSU team in 2020. Shantel has a special interest in working with fearful and reactive dogs, as she loves to watch their confidence grow and their lives change for the better. In her free time, she trains and handles her personal dog, Gravy, in French Ring Sport.
